Our goal for this project is to highlight how New Orleans reflects the “Global South”, as well as old and new southern traditions.

In this project we will be focusing on Jazz, Mardi Gras, Voodoo, Storyville, and Hurricane Katrina.

New Orleans culture and experiences have helped shape the American South. It has added cultural aspects unique to this region. Studying New Orleans helps us gain an understanding of the importance of cultural traditions in the Southeastern United States.
